    Summary

    Someone had mentioned that this was something missing in *key instances image image

    although it should specify that it can be from any fedi software, not just specific to one...

    Purpose

    Currently trying to follow or interact with a post leads to a sign in popup, this is misleading.

        This doesn't exist on *key instances cause the actual support for this feature is generally missing (backend code and etc) and this is kinda out of scope in this case as it requires a lot of breaking changes with upstream

        should this just be a simple front end redirect to the users instance?

        i don't see how this would be hard to add

        It is not frontend it redirects to a page defined in the webfinger of a user which then tries to authorize the interaction which all doesn't exist.
