Reconcile rocket icons and post audience menus.
First off, im loving Sharkey and appreciate all of the efforts going into it! Thank you!!
A couple items for consideration:
- The rocket icon is used in a number of places, all with different meanings/intentions:
- “Boost” icon for boosting notes.
- “Social” timeline icon
- “Federate/Defederate” icon in note authoring
I would suggest aligning the icon used for boost and note authoring(see item below), and maybe choosing a different one for “social”?
- The Boost menu(rocket ship) for specifying the audience when boosting existing notes and the menus for specifying the audience for note authoring (globe icon menu + another rocket ship federation toggle) both seem to address a similar issue of specifying the audience, but in different ways with mismatching icons. I Prefer the consolidated boost menu as it is simpler, and uses the “local” concept, but note authoring uses the “federate/defederate” concept which again gets confusing. I mentioned this elsewhere, but I think consolidating the note authoring two icons into one menu similar to boost, where “local” can be a toggle that is coupled with public,followers, etc. Other “key” forks (eg. Catodon, Firefish) have done this and it has felt much simpler, and more consistent with the boost menu.
