Inconsistent use of "alt-text" vs. "caption"

When adding an image to a note, there is the option to add a caption to that image, like so:

...and the word "caption" is used to describe this text throughout the dialog:

yet this appears to actually be alt text, which is different. Here is a warning if you don't add alt text to an image:

and this is the icon that appears when alt text is available for an image:

I suggest that "caption" be replaced by "alt text" in all places to remain consistent. The text is treated as alt text across the fediverse (as far as I can tell), and "caption" implies something different.

I'd be willing to give this a go, if others agree it's a worthy change.

This appears to be, at its core, a translation concern? Though some variables in the code are named "caption" and could also be changed to better reflect the values they hold.

It would be best to just change the translations in sharkey-locales as most of the caption references are part of upstream code while "Alt" is a result of contributors adding features like the pop-up and the little "Alt" indicator.

Alright, I gave that a try. I don't think my changes were immediately applied, so hopefully those maintainers agree with my ideas and incorporate them. If that doesn't pan out, I can open a merge request against sharkey-locales.
